Everton received a deduction of 10 points, it was reduced to six points on appeal last February and then Everton received an additional two-point deduction for the second violation of the financial rules of the league.
Subsequently, Everton filed a secondary appeal on the deduction of the additional two points, and at that time the team was in sixteenth place in the table and was two points above the relegation zone.
In its statement, Everton confirmed that it has withdrawn its appeal against the decision of an independent Premier League Committee to impose a two-point deduction on the club, due to a breach of the league's profit and Sustainability rules for the accounting period ending in June 2023.
The statement explained that the scheduled hearing will not continue now, which means that the two-point deduction will continue to apply with this, Everton will conclude the 2023-2024 Premier League season with the two-point deduction still in effect.
